Some days ago Elon Must had claimed to remove verify badges for notable public figures on Twitter for they had failed to pay a monthly subscription fee of $8 for the Twitter Blue tick.
On Friday several most followed Kenyans in Twitter were delighted to have their badges back. It was directed to public figures with more than 1M followers who found the verification back.
Among Kenyan most followed people like DP Rigathi Gachagua, Martha Karua, CNN Journalists Larry Madowo who found the blue ticks back.
Other media and TV stations Citizen and The Star also got their badges back
Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, American singer Beyonce, Diamond Platnumz also found back their ticks.
This comes after Twitter CEO Elon Musk had announced in the previous year that users will start to pay a monthly fee for the blue tick mark.
