President William Ruto, Samia Suluhu(Tanzania), Evariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi), Hussein Mwinyi (Zanzibar), Macky Sall (Senegal) are among leaders who attended the African Food Systems Forum that happened in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania.
The summit was held at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.
On Thursday 7th, CNN Journalist Larry Madowo engaged Dar Es Salaam audience after defending Kiswahili language spoke by Kenyans. This came after Tanzanian President Mama Samia Suluhu had spoken.
“Habari za mchana…,” Suluhu said. “Juzi Ruto alitufundisha semeni jambo, tukajibu Jambo. Lakini the real thing ni ‘Habari za mchana’.” Her words left the crowd in laughter and she added that Kenyans need to have Kiswahili lessons as they couldn’t be able to get the correct word to mean signing a contract.
” Hawa Wakenya, kwenda kutia sahihi mkataba wanasema kuweka kidole mkataba. Itabidi tuwaweke kwenye lessons za Kiswahili..,” she said.
In a nutshell, CNN Journalist Larry joined to defend President Ruto saying that Kenya and Tanzania are close neighbors.
” Lazima nimtetee Rais wangu Ruto, sababu unajua sisi Wakenya Pamoja na Watanzania sisi ni mandugu wa kufa kuzikana. Wakenya tunaongelesha Watanzania Katika Kiswahili mbaya nao wanatujibu kwa Kizungu mbaya, tunaendelea mbele kama injili..,” he said this as the crowd roared in laughter.
Later on President Ruto had a light moment at the African Food Summit where he teased President Suluhu after she had used Azimio word in her speech.
