Televangelist Ezekiel Odero of New Life Prayer Centre and church has been arrested by the DCI in Mombasa, alleged of indoctrination in the public.
The Directorate Of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating onto why there is indoctrination of the members from his church. This comes some days after the arrest of controversial Pastor Mackienzie of Kilifi over cult critism, and deaths results from recovery bodies of based on Good News International Church cult led by Pastor Paul Mackienzie of Shakahola in Kilifi County.
Pastor Ezekiel Odero recorded a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Kilifi County and as it was checked by the Detectives, it was revealed that Pastor Ezekiel of New Life Prayer Centre and church had some links with the cult that was belong praised by Pastor Paul.
The DCI is also investigating why there is a morgue that is built near famous pastor’s church, which in one way or another might have caused to mysterious deaths that occurred.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki after showing hints to arrest popular Kilifi pastor, he said that the pastors are using the chance wrongly and uses religious indoctrination to mislead Christians.
“We are closing in on another Malindi based preacher who like Mackenzie, is advancing similar religious indoctrination and extremism. Never again will people in this country lose lives on account of such misleading religious teachings,” said Kindiki.
“Any faith that kills people or engages in criminal activities in the name of religion must be stopped, and this is the time to stop these charlatans,” said the CS Kithure Kindiki.
Pastor Ezekiel has therefore been arrested and he is under investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
