Kibabii University Election Board Announces Results For the Votes Cast

Kibabii University conducted its general elections 2023/24 Friday of March 31 2023. As it has been a norm in the institution, elections are carried out and the leaders elected rule for an academic year. Several students vied for different posts who of which winners were declared  in the afternoon .

The Election Board led by the Returning Officer Dr. Robert Kati who is also the lecturer of the Institution with openness announced the results as per respective seat and the winner.

The winners in the respective Faculty and School Representatives positions were as follows;

FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES (FASS)

Academic Representative : Maisha Chrispinus

Female Representative : Beatrice Okoth

Male Representative : Peter Kakaya

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION (SOE)

Academic Representative : Virginia Wamuchi

Female Representative : Sheila Barasa

Male Representative : Felix Yegon

FACULTY OF SCIENCE(FS)

Academic Representative : Sikuku Wafula

Female Representative : Faith Chebet

male Representative : David Wafula

SCHOOL OF COMPUTING AND INFORMATICS (SCAI)

Male Representative : Ian Ong’oro

Female Representative : Raha Habib Faud

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS (SOBE)

Academic Representative : Rodgers Otieno

Male Representative : Caleb Marenga

SCHOOL OF NURSING (SON)

Academic Representative : Lilian Walingo

Male Representative : Daudi Njuguna

Female Representative : Jane Njoki

UNOPPOSED CANDIDATES

Part Time Academic Representative : Emily Mbone

Post Graduate Representative : Enson Yegon

THE SENIOR GOVERNING COUNCIL ANNOUNCED AS THE WINNERS WERE AS FOLLOWS

President : Dennis Barak

Secretary General : Patrick Buchere

Academic Director : Nancy Mbuthye

Treasurer : Haron Mananga

Security and Accomodation : Sylvester Cheruiyot

Special Interest Representative : Diana Jemutai

The elections were conducted free and fair as the security was tight. No violence or riots was observed as seen in the campaigns . Supporters for the declared party celebrated peacefully over the victory made.

The opposition party led by George Ochieng Ochieng despite losing but provided numerous representative .
