The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has announced a revision of its payment structure for contracted professionals involved in the administration of national examinations.
This change is significant as it affects the compensation of individuals such as invigilators, center managers, and supervisors, who play crucial roles in ensuring the smooth conduct of exams across the country.
Under the new payment scheme, invigilators and center managers will receive a transport reimbursement of sh 550 per day. This amount is intended to help cover the costs incurred while traveling to and from examination centers.
These professionals are vital in maintaining the integrity of the examination process, ensuring that all protocols are followed and that candidates adhere to the required guidelines.
In contrast, supervisors will be compensated at a higher daily rate of sh 680. Supervisors have additional responsibilities, including overseeing the entire examination process within their designated centers. Their role involves ensuring that all examination materials are secure and that the invigilation is conducted fairly and without any malpractices.
