A National Police Reservist (NPR) and a third year student at Kibabii University were on Thursday 14 killed by the armed bandits in Kiriamet regions in Baringo county. The University student who was on his long holiday at his home place with the company of the Police officer went to a nearby bush to harvest honey when they were attacked by the bandits.
After the attack, the student died on the spot while the the overpowered officer died on his way to the hospital. The attack by the bandits in the county comes some months after Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki reaffirmed his earlier position that he would permanently end banditry in the country.

The killing of the two by the bandits have brought tension to the villagers . With the only university student in the area, parents of the deceased have been left in tears .
“Huyu mtoto wangu ni mtoto wa shule na alikuwa anafaa kurudi shule leo. Kijana yangu ambaye ni wa university alikuwa anatoa asali ndio apate kwenda shule,” his father said.
It was however confirmed that nothing was stolen by the bandits during the incident.

Baringo county Governor ordered the arrest of the criminals. “Target those criminals, arrest them and their financiers because for as long as there is no accountability they will still hit even when the operation is over,” Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi.

A couple of months ago, Erick Omondi talked of venturing into politics. The Kenyan comedian and actor born in Kisumu county now reveals plans to go for a parliamentary seat in Lang’ata constituency.

This comes days after the current Member of Parliament in Lang’ata Phelix Odiwour Jalang’o was kicked out of Orange Democratic Movement Party for being close to President William Ruto. ODM’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna went ahead saying that Jalang’o won’t make it come the next general election 2027.

“I have told Jalang’o to stop listening to the counsel of others. If at all you will survive with a court order until 2027 you will not get the Langata MP seat again.” Sifuna said.

Today Erick Omondi has put plans to go for the seat on an ODM party ticket yet not confirmed.

“I have never spoken about Lang’ata because there are many constituencies in this country but apparently Lang’ata is key because of the people who convince me to go for it,” Erick said in one of the interview.

Her body have been found murdered and dumped inside a pit latrine around Mlolongo areas.

After her day to day activities in her saloon, Jane Mwende received a call from unknown number and her colleagues revealed  that after she left to have the call she never returned.

“She received a call seemingly from a client and she stepped outside. We have never seen her since then. She did not come to work the following day,” her colleague hairdresser said.

“She did not tell us anything. She went while speaking on the phone. On August 25, there was a blackout, so we assumed her phone was off,” another colleague, Jennifer Mwende said.

Today, Mlolongo police officers were led by suspects to the scene where Jane’s body was lying. The two suspects a man a his wife had earlier led the police detectives to a wrong scene where they claimed they had dumped the body. The two were arrested on Saturday September 9 in Mlolongo area, Machakos county.

It was confirmed that Jane Mwende was involved in love dispute with another woman involving a man. The other woman who had clashes with Jane has been seen in Mlolongo area since her lost and the man involved was asked concerned questions by the police officers.

Death troll exceeds over 600 people in Morocco after strong earthquakes strikes parts of Morroco.

According to Morocco’s Country Interior Ministry, the earthquake struck Morocco on Friday night.

It is confirmed that more than 800 people have been killed and the death troll from the earthquake makes it deadliest to hit over the decades. Morocco’s dangerous earthquake that left 12,000 people losing their lives happened in 1960.

Affected and injured victims were seen parading outside Marrakech hospital building. This forced the hospital beds to be vacated outside the building to held the injured victims.

Israel becomes the among nations to offers assistance to Morocco from the arose incident. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the government to mobilize and provide assistance to Morocco.

The United Nations has also promised to help Moroccan government following the earthquake.

“It is my wish that all the injured people recover quickly,” the Indian Prime Minister Modi said. “In this difficult time, my thoughts are with Morroco and we are prepared to offer every possible assistance.” He added.
