Diamond Platnumz Makes Scary Dramatic Entry In A Coffin At Wasafi Festival

Singer Diamond Platnumz the director and CEO of WCB Label and Wasafi Media is currently running Wasafi Festival in different regions in his country. Mtwara, Ruangwa and Iringa are among the regions the concert are to take place.

He is performing the concert with his record label signees Zuchu, Mbosso, Lavalava among other artists.

The Ruangwa Festival was of horror theme after the Tanzanian bongo star Diamond Platnumz made a stage entrance in a coffin. A group of men dressed in black costumes carrying lanterns , four wooden coffins and scary skeletons were seen at the stage where the artist had to perform. His fans termed his creativity as satanic hence disliking.

After the coffin was placed vertically on stage, Diamond Platnumz came out surprisingly and began performing his hit song ‘baba lao’ .

Kenyan rapper Khaligraph also made a coffin stage entrance in 2017 and the Konde Music Signee Ibrahim Abdallah Nampunga popularly known as Ibraah appeared on stage in a coffin during the Afro EastCarnival.

Catastrophic Earthquake Kills Hundreds Of People In Morroco

Death troll exceeds over 600 people in Morocco after strong earthquakes strikes parts of Morroco.

According to Morocco’s Country Interior Ministry, the earthquake struck Morocco on Friday night.

It is confirmed that more than 800 people have been killed and the death troll from the earthquake makes it deadliest to hit over the decades. Morocco’s dangerous earthquake that left 12,000 people losing their lives happened in 1960.

Affected and injured victims were seen parading outside Marrakech hospital building. This forced the hospital beds to be vacated outside the building to held the injured victims.

Israel becomes the among nations to offers assistance to Morocco from the arose incident. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the government to mobilize and provide assistance to Morocco.

The United Nations has also promised to help Moroccan government following the earthquake.

“It is my wish that all the injured people recover quickly,” the Indian Prime Minister Modi said. “In this difficult time, my thoughts are with Morroco and we are prepared to offer every possible assistance.” He added.

Kibabii University Receives An Intern Student From Technical University of Munich

It is with pleasure that today, the Bungoma based Campus, Kibabii University has admitted an intern student from the Technical University of Munich that is located in Germany. The received student Mr Rami Daouas has been admitted and the univeristy has guaranteed him to work closely with the student and the Directorate of ICT.

Mr Rami will be involved in skills such as ERP system, data center management and will also offer support to the students.

Mr Rami Daouas holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Information and Technology and he is currently persuing a Master’s degree in the same field of study.

With his vast experience in Technology, he has also secured a chance to work with the County Assembly of Bungoma County where he will be engaged in several projects. The skills he is well groomed in include Software Testing, Software Architecture, Python programming, Network Security and Information Security. This will help the university’s IT programs are aligned perfectly.

However, the univeristy is set to have it’s 2023/24 lecturer classes commence 18th of September 2023.

Pres. Ruto, Larry Madowo Challenges Tanzanian Pres Samia Suluhu Over Swahili-English Speaking

President William Ruto, Samia Suluhu(Tanzania), Evariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi), Hussein Mwinyi (Zanzibar), Macky Sall (Senegal) are among leaders who attended the African Food Systems Forum that happened in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania.

The summit was held at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.

On Thursday 7th, CNN Journalist Larry Madowo engaged Dar Es Salaam audience after defending Kiswahili language spoke by Kenyans. This came after Tanzanian President Mama Samia Suluhu had spoken.

“Habari za mchana…,” Suluhu said. “Juzi Ruto alitufundisha semeni jambo, tukajibu Jambo. Lakini the real thing ni ‘Habari za mchana’.” Her words left the crowd in laughter and she added that Kenyans need to have Kiswahili lessons as they couldn’t be able to get the correct word to mean signing a contract.

” Hawa Wakenya, kwenda kutia sahihi mkataba wanasema kuweka kidole mkataba. Itabidi tuwaweke kwenye lessons za Kiswahili..,” she said.

In a nutshell, CNN Journalist Larry joined to defend President Ruto saying that Kenya and Tanzania are close neighbors.

” Lazima nimtetee Rais wangu Ruto, sababu unajua sisi Wakenya Pamoja na Watanzania sisi ni mandugu wa kufa kuzikana. Wakenya tunaongelesha Watanzania Katika Kiswahili mbaya nao wanatujibu kwa Kizungu mbaya, tunaendelea mbele kama injili..,” he said this as the crowd roared in laughter.

Later on President Ruto had a light moment at the African Food Summit where he teased President Suluhu after she had used Azimio word in her speech.

Mp Jalang’o Among 5 Members Expelled From ODM Party

Today, the National Executive Committee( NEC) has kicked out its 5 members from Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) Party. The members excluded have been termed as defying party position and that they have been closely associating with President William Samoei Ruto.

” Basing on Article 11 of ODM costitution, the expelled members have been opposing lawful decisions,” said Orange Democratic Movement Party Chairman John Mbadi.

“The members be deemed to have resigned from the ODM and the party is hereby directed to commence the process of removing them from the register of ODM,” said Mbadi.

The expelled members include, Member of Parliament Elisha Odhiambo(Gem), Mp Gideon Ochanda(Bondo), Mp Felix Odiwour alia Jalang’o (Lang’ata), Mp Caroli Omondi (Suba South) and the Senator of Kisumu County Tom Ojienda.

They were accused of violating the party Constitution and the Political Parties Act 2011 by closely and openly associating with and supporting activities of a rival political outfit, as well as opposing lawful decisions made by party organs.

During the briefings, Mbadi also announced that Rongo Mp Paul Abuor  and Mark Nyamitta of Uriri  should seek apology from the party and pay Ksh.1 Million for they face similar allegations.

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris was also reprimanded for her “outright defiance of the party position . The National Executive committee announced, “She should issue a written apology to the party within seven days and be fined a sum of Ksh250,000 which should be paid within 60 days.”

 

Computer Science Student At Kibabii University Wins A Silver Battle At Worldskills National Competition

Today Kibabii University celebrates victory of a third year student Clinton Ochieng’ persuing Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science who won a Silver battle at Kenya Worldskills National Competition.

Clinton Ochieng won a Silver after he had joined with other 100 young individuals who were set for the competions. Together, they were given 16 skill areas to tackle.

The competions were held at Kenya School of TVET from 28th August to 1st September

Kibabii University based lecturer Dr Yonah Etene was named as his mentor and and couching tutor that in turn has brought victory home. Clinton now joins other winners from the competion that will represent Kenya during the Worldskills International Competition that will be held in Lyon, France in September 2024.

Kenyans Who Registered For Worldcoin Report Eye Problems

Kenyan newspaper Daily Nation reports that 5 Kenyans who had registered for worldcoin confirms eye problems. It was confirmed that more than 350,000 Kenyans had their irises scanned by the United States of American data firm before CS Kindiki ordered for the suspension of the exercise.

Kisumu East Member of Parliament Shakir Shabib brought up the claims for the 5 people who were scanned and reports eye problems.

Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha said she could not ignore the claims at all.

“The company in question did not report the device as medical equipment. With this in consideration I cannot rule out the claims of a health problem,” Nakhumicha told the National Assembly. She added that the victims who are experiencing eye problems to report to immediate health center for check up.

A Smile On Teachers! TSC Updates Teachers Payslips After Salary Increment

Teachers have recently shown a face smile after a new pay deal signed by their Union and their employer, Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Their payslips have an increment of between Sh785 and Sh5, 141 as minimal and maximum amount respectively.

This is after the government had approved a 7-10% increment as civil officials intend to receive updated payslips.

The deal of salary increase was signed by Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) and the Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers (KUSNET).

However, the civil officials will be required to pay additional taxes on their newly salaries, for instance, a government employee earning Sh.100k per month will now pay Sh.1500 as house levy tax and Sh.880 to Sh.2400 as NSSF Contributions. Previously, teachers were exempted the NSSF deductions.

Kenya National Union of Teachers Sec General Collins Oyuu said that the increment will cushion teachers against all the deductions.

“The pay rise will be used to cushion teachers from the new deductions, inflation and high cost of living,” said Oyuu.

The pay hits different to the teachers in grades C4, C5, D4 and D5 as the will not receive any increment.

However, under the new signed deal, teachers in Grade 5B will get a minimum pay rise of sh.2,074 from Sh.21756 to Sh. 23830.

Those in job group C1 will get Sh.29,787 from Sh.27,195 and those in C2 will get Sh.38,286 from Sh.34955.

Those in C3 will get Sh.45,671 from Sh.43,154, those in C4 will get no rise as their salaries Sh.52,308.

Teachers in D1 will get an increase of Sh.785 from 77,840 to Sh.78,625, D2 Sh. 1,455 from 91,041 to Sh.92,496 and D3 Teachers Sh.1,399 increment from 104,644 to Sh. 106,043.

Those in D4 and D5 won’t get any rise pay as their salaries remain stand still Sh 114,242 and Sh.131 380 respectively.

TSC CEO Nancy Macharia said that the commission had in the period promoted 14,738 as there are still 36,275 pending vacancies.
