Kibabii University Releases Graduation List For 2022/2023 Candidates

Kibabii University on November 8 2023, released a list of 2022/2023  candidates who intend to have their graduation in December. The institutions’ exam board has aired out the first draft graduation list for the Faculty of Science (FS), School of Business and Economics (SOBE), School of Education (SOE) and the  Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) candidates.

  1. Faculty Of Science (FS)

Under this Faculty, Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education and Extension (BEE) had 32 candidates who are expected to graduate

40 candidates are from the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (SMA), 4 candidates from the Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and Resource Management and lastly 2 candidates from Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Biotechnology.

2.School of Education (SOE)

However, 353 candidates satisfied the Board of Examinations of the School of Education in the University.

Among the 353 recommended to graduate during December 8th graduation ceremony, 198 candidates are from Bachelor of Education Arts (EDA), 15 candidates will graduate with Bachelors’ Degree in Early Childhood Education (EDE) and 140 candidates will graduate with a degree in Education Science (EDS)

3.School of Business and Economics (SOBE)

148 candidates from the School of Business and Economics satisfied for the degree and will also graduate. Being a huge number from the Faculty, 136 candidates will graduate with Bachelors degree in Commerce (BCO). 12 candidates from Bachelor of Business Management and finally 23 candidates will graduate with a Diploma in Business Management

4.Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS)

Bachelor of Criminology had 45 candidates, Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication with 32 candidates, and 7 candidates from Bachelor of Social Work satisfied and are recommended to graduate as well.

5 candidates also satisfied with Diploma in Social Work and Community Development, 5 with a Certificate in Criminology and 2 candidates with a Certificate in Social Work and Community Development.

School of Computing and Informatics (SCAI) and School of Nursing graduands are yet to be released but the university.

The continuing students 2nd, 3rd and 4th years are expected to have their End semester exams at the start of  December as fresh men and women will sit for their exam January 2024.

 

 

 

KCSE Exams Begin Countrywide

Few days after completion and end of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) main examinations officially begins this Monday morning.

The assigned officials and officers from the Ministry of Education today early morning arrived at various centres to collect exams with the officers in charge overseeing the distribution process. The KSCE exams papers were said to be collected twice a day to avoid cases of multi-practices in exam cheating.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) released guidelines and rules that will govern learners and that whoever attempts exam cheating will be penalized and will have his/her exams cancelled. Moreover, any exam centre that will engage in exam cheating will as well have results for the whole centre cancelled.

Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang stressed that the schools efforts will reflect onto the learners results.

“Our focus should be on value addition to our students. Whatever results that our children will get is from the input of our teams in schools,” Education PS Kipsang said in a media address on Monday.

Teachers Service Commission CEO Nancy Macharia today morning was at the Mvita centre in Mombasa County overseeing the exams while Education PS Belio Kipsang led the exercise at Westlands DCC.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education is set to end on November 24, 2023.

 

End Of An Era As KCPE & KPSEA Candidates Set For Exams

About 1.4 million candidates are expected to sit for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) , being the highest number in the history of exams in Kenya. They are the last cohort learners of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education to sit for the CPE exams after their rehearsals done on Friday 27.

The 2023 KCPE examinations will signal the conclusion and end of the long lasting, 38-years serving curriculum 8-4-4 system in Primary schools. It will mark a historic as the second major curriculum change since the transition from the 7-4-2-3 system done in 1985.

However, around 1.2 million Grade six learners will have the assessment done as well. Noth exams are expected to end on Wednesday November, 1

The introduction of Competency Based Curriculum has greatly garnered attention as the ultimate solution to address the disadvantages of 8-4-4 system. The new introduced curriculum bases on skills development and aiming to feed learners with practical and applicable knowledge. It is also aimed in critical thinking and digital literacy.

The Kenya National Examination Council released guidelines for 2023 examinations.

Candidates were advised to adhere to the guidelines;

  1. Maintain integrity and avoid sharing exam related information on social media
  2. Work independently and with honest during exams
  3. Not allowed to have mobile phones in the exam rooms
  4. Punctuality is Key; report for exams on time to reduce anxiety
  5. Dedicate ample time to studying and during revision.

The subjects tested under KPSEA exams are Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Integrated Science containing Home Science, Agriculture, Science and Technology and Physical Health and Creative Social Sciences which includes Art and Craft, Music, Social Studies and CRE.

Oliver Twist Mukhwana is a student at Kibabii University who got himself well equipped with skills in weaving. Being born and raised in Kibingie, Kimilili constituency, Bungoma county the third year Kibabii University student is currently pursuing his Bachelors’ degree in Pure Mathematics (specialized in Applied Maths).

On an interview with one of the varsity’s News Media, Mtamaduni Blog, Oliver revealed that he had absolutely no one who taught him on how to weave. He found himself offering saloonist services long before at his home. The journalist later asked him when he started being a proprietor of a saloon . “Mimi sikumbuki nilianza lini kusonga…” he answered.

After joining campus in September 2021, he partially ventured into it. He failed to have it done on full time since his studies ran on day-to-day basis. During his free time, the student provides his self-taught saloonist services which at the end of the day brings him something on the table. His fellow coursemates and other students whom he provides the services advised him to open a saloonist shop for it will create revenue for him.

Other students from the varsity have involved themselves in different activities to have their upkeep funds settled.

 

KCSE Rehearsals To Begin On Thursday As Dates For KCPE and KPSEA Set

With over 3.5Million candidates set to seat for their exams this year, the 2023 KCPE Candidates set the highest record of 1.4 Million candidates who  will have their KCPE Examinations. The 2023 KCPE examinations will mark the end of the 8-4-4 system in primary schools.

However, 1.4 Million candidates will seat for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment.(KPSEA) as under million candidates to have their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

The Kenya National Examinations Council has announced that examination rehearsals for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education 2023 will commence on Thursday, October 19. The examinations board went ahead and announced that the rehearsals for KCPE and KPSEA will be on Friday, October 27.

Teachers are on their final rushes to make sure learners have grasped their best and set to have their exams done well. KNEC is anticipated to employ 1, 700 exam officers who will oversee the exams. The KCPE and KPSEA examinations are targeted tp begin on Monday, October 30 and end on Wednesday, November 1.

During a briefing for the monitoring oficcers that was held at the Mtihani House, KNEC headquarters on Monday, Principal Secretary for Education ,Belio Kipsang urged the officers to be committed to ensure proper efficient and effective administration of the assessments and examinations.

The Boondocks gang artist Francis Macharia Gachucha Wa Wambui popularly known by his stage name Odi Wa Murang’a is set to perform at Kibabii University on 13, Friday during the Freshers Night event. The ‘Kidole’ hitmaker is expected to have a stage appearance at 6pm first before starting his stage performance at the Graduation Square where the event will take place.

The Competitive activities that will take place at the G-square include ;

  2. Disk Jockey Battle
  3. Spoken word
  4. Rapping
  5. Singing
  6. Salsa competition

The event will be hosted by MC Coolkid and Music by DJ Renox. The Afro Beat Jamz, Amapiano, Reggae, Riddim, Gospel and Hip Hop are among the Music jamz that will be played dueing the event.

Days ago, it was allegedly reported that the long anticipated event was to be suspended since the ‘Organizers’ claimed that there was sufficient funds that would have catered for during the event. That the institution was to ban all entertainment events since in turn it brings immorality in the school. Comrades seemingly looked outraged with the report that was delivered from Accommodation and Security leader Sylvester. The Institutions’ Sec Gen later confirmed that the event will take place and that such reports were called off.

“Sylvester has threatened to transfer from kibabii university if there will be Freshers night on Friday,” wrote Lord Erastus Masinde.

“These are real leaders (BARAKA AND BUCHERE) they are ready to die for Comrades.

Former Chelsea Forward Eden Hazard Announces His Retirement From Football

The Belgian attacking Mid-fielder Eden Hazard on Tuesday announced his retirement from football career at the age of 32. Eden Hazard was a former Chelsea striker before leaving for Real Madrid in 2019 at 89 Million Pounds.

“You must listen to yourself and stay stop at the right time,” he wrote on Instagram.

“After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer.” He added.

The Belgian attacking midfielder Eden Hazard announced his retirement after failing to find another club following his release from Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard won 2 Premier League Trophies while at Chelsea and was named also named  PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 2015.

“I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world.

“During my career, I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches and team-mates – thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all.”

The Footballer moreover thanked his former clubs and Managers for making his dream in Football grow big .

“I also want to thank the clubs I have played for: LOSC, Chelsea and Real Madrid; and thank the RBFA for my Belgian selection.

Eden Hazard had signed a five-year contract while at Real until 2024 but his time was beset by the injuries. While at Real Madrid he made 76 appearances with 10 goals. The trophies won at the club are two LaLiga titles, one Champions League and one Copa Del Rey.

 

Kibabii University Comrades Left Appalled Amid Suspension Of Freshers’ Night

On Tuesday 10, it was reported that all entertainment events and Freshers’ Night as well to be banned from University. Being a holiday (Utamaduni Day), Comrades had set their minds already to enjoy and have a campus vibe on Freshers’ night that was set to happen on 13 at the graduation square.

A Statement was received on Tuesday afternoon from from Security and Accomodation Leader Sylvester Cheruyot that there will be no freshers night.

” LEADERS THERE WILL BE NO FRESHERS NIGHT. LET’S WAIT FOR SOMETHING ELSE! ” read the statement. Sylvester however was the Speaker in the University cabinet in the last regime.

The varsity alumni and other Students’ leaders have been surprised over the same since ever the university have been having the events done without wrangles.

One of the University’s News Website Mtamaduni.co.ke spotted some of the quotes from the alumni and students in the university. Alumnus like General Masinde Erastus are among alumni comrades disappointed on the issue.

Comrades do you know we used to have alcohol drinking joints in the university but wakaanza ati pombe inanukia staffs, now they are targeting entertainment events. Some Primary schools have entertainment day sasa hapa mko Kindergarten ama nini. Freshers Night Lazima,” said General Lord Erastus Masinde.

 

“But from the fist point , I was against Patrick Buchere and Sylvester Cheryuot. They were among the obstacles that made Etyang not to deliver. Instead of blaming Sylvester and Elphas,  fresher’s night is under the docket of Secretary General (SG) , up to the moment he has not or even he is not aware of what is going on but as usual, Romancing around.
Let there be fresher’s night or there will be no peace. Comrades Power!!” Wrote Proff Mitalo.
“Sylvester Cheryuot and Elphas Litangi you should explain to comrades how you ended up with your decision.”

Other students from the varsity have also been overwhelmed with the alleged claims. Third years SMA Class Representative Ian Wekesa claims that there is hidden agenda and says that comrades must enjoy there money in any Entertainment event.
The University’s SOKU Chairperson Deninson Baraka went ahead to inform comrades that there are still vacant rooms in the university hostels.
“Comrades who have not yet settled we still have vacant rooms in our residential hostels,” he said.

He started acting the year 2013 as a film student at Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC).The sensational actor remain consistent and was passionate to his comedy journey.

Mwalimu Tom Daktari name arose after the comedian started performing and having teachers’ roles as fellow comedian Sammy Kioko who also runs a telenovela episode ‘Men Can Lie’ on YouTube acted as the student. The two garnered massive audience from the ‘Kwavonza Hae School’ skirts.

Tom Daktari with Sammy Kioko together has a show they perform in their vernacular Kamba language, The Wamusyi Show which at times they feature fellow comedians like MCA Tricky, Chipukeezy among others.

Pulse Awards Kenya announced voting for best tiktok influencer of the year and Tom Daktari was among the nominees. The controversial tiktoker has been making moves and waves with his unique sounds on tiktok to attract the attention of the listeners .

Multimedia University Students On A Rampage Over Delayment Of Helb Funds

On Tuesday morning, Multimedia Umiversity students took to the streets to protest over delayment of Higher Education Loans Board(HELB) funds by the government. The chaos erupted and brought distruction along Magadi road in Kajiado county.

It was also alleged that the varsity closed the student’s portal before they had completed registering for the current semester session classes. The students also complained about missing marks on their portal and more so to the graduating class of 2023. This however pulled them out to block the road outside their school gate.

The alarmed voices in the morning hours of Tuesday, also complained of the inadequate facilities and services offered by the varsity, poor sanitation and the univeristy to improve Wi-Fi connections across the campus.

It is also reported that the university is set to conduct it’s tenth graduation ceremony on Friday 27,October therefore pleading their results to be reflected on the portal.

Students also have been seen protesting over the delayment of helb funds which most of the students depend on as an upkeep. Earlier on, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino spoke for the comrades and wondered why student leaders were silent when their funds had not been disbursed.

“Helb must never delay. Student leaders you are sleeping, you are wasting constituents who elected you instead of representing them you are misrepresenting them. You must wake up, come out and  call for demos. Let HELB not delay even for one minute,” Babu Owino said.
