The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the opening of applications for 13,823 slots in public Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) across Kenya.
The application period is now open and will run until March 20, 2025. These slots are available for students wishing to pursue teaching courses at diploma levels, and the program includes both primary and secondary education teacher training.
A significant portion of the available slots is for the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education, which has a total of 11,088 vacancies spread across 33 public TTCs. This program is open to candidates who meet the minimum requirement of a KCSE mean grade of C (plain) or its equivalent.
Additionally, there are 2,735 slots for the Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education, which is offered at three colleges: Kagumo TTC, Kibabii TTC, and Lugari TTC. To qualify for this program, candidates must have a minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus) or its equivalent. For applicants with alternative qualifications, equivalency certification from the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) is required.
The online application process is available through the KUCCPS Student Portal, which can be accessed via the KUCCPS official website. Both Kenyan and non-Kenyan citizens are eligible to apply. The application process is straightforward but requires candidates to be cautious of online fraudsters, and KUCCPS has advised applicants to be vigilant.
This opportunity is open to all students from the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) cohort, as well as those from previous years. The deadline for applications is March 20, 2025, and interested candidates are urged to apply promptly.
