MOROCCO STORMS INTO QUATER FINALS AFTER A 3-1 PENALTY WIN AGAINST SPAIN

In FIFA World Cup 2022, Morocco showed much efforts in the last round of 16 to storm into quarter finals. They played against Spain. 

Morocco got a foul in the first minute of the match, and it was shot by Hakim Ziyech.

Chances were created for the both teams to score but it ended up a 0-0 for the first half. During the second half, both teams showed efforts to get a win . Some little bit of substitutions were made which later accounted for some change in match statistics.

In the second half, no team scored a goal despite some shots on target created. The match ended up a 0-0 once again for the second half. Both teams went for the extra time but after 120 minutes of the match there was no goal for any team.

The teams were forced to go for penalty kicks for a winner to emerge. Abdelhamid Sabiri first penalty shot gave Morocco a goal, after Ziyech gave a second goal for the team. Pablo Sarabia and Carlos Sole kicks were saved by Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou which later on made Spain to lose the penalty kicks. Achraf Hakimi gave Morocco a third goal making them win a 3-1 penalty shots against Spain.

Morocco therefore storms into quarter finals and it is expected to play against Portugal which got a victory of 6-1 against Switzerland. Goncalo Ramos scored a stunning hat-trick for Portugal.
