1.3 Million Students Begun Their KPSEA Exams Today

On Monday, October 28, 2023, approximately 1.3 million Grade 6 students across Kenya commenced the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).

This assessment is a significant component of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), which aims to equip learners with the skills and knowledge necessary for their future educational endeavors.

The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) was introduced in 2022 to help students transition from primary to junior secondary school. It focuses on assessing learners’ competencies and skills, ensuring they are adequately prepared for the next stage of their education.

The KPSEA serves not only as a tool for evaluating students’ competencies but also as a measure of their readiness to transition to secondary education. By focusing on a broader range of skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical application of knowledge, the CBC seeks to move away from traditional rote learning methods.
